Update : 08 Jan 2022, 17:03

Last year in April, Deepika Padukone and her family including her father Prakash, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha had tested positive for COVID-19. Recently in an interview with an Indian entertainment portal, the actress opened up on her battle with the virus.

Deepika was cured within weeks

Deepika informed the news portal "Film Companion" about how COVID-19 transformed her life "Life changed for me after Covid since I was physically unrecognizable... I believe it was because of the prescription I was given and the steroids I was given. So Covid was strange in and of itself; your body and mind felt different."

Deepika told Film Companion that she healed from COVID-19 in only a few weeks, but that she had to take a two-month hiatus before returning to work since her mind wasn't working. She said that it was a 'very, very difficult moment' for her. "I thought everything was okay while I was sick, but after that, my mind wouldn't operate and I needed to take two months off work. For me, the phase was quite challenging," she added.

She went on to say, "Life altered for me after Covid because I was physically unrecognizable... I believe it was because of the prescription I was given and the steroids I was given. So Covid was strange in and of itself; your body and mind felt different. I thought it was okay while I was sick, but after that, my mind wouldn't operate and I needed to take two months off work. For me, the phase was quite challenging."

In the meantime, Deepika will be seen in Pathan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, and Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan.
