PTI raises concerns on report of Bushra Bibi’s ill health

Update : 16 Feb 2024, 14:02

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expressed deep concerns on Thursday regarding the deteriorating health of Bushra Bibi, the spouse of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently confined to the couple's Banigala residence, designated as a sub-jail after their conviction and sentencing in the Toshakhana case.

Mashal Yousufzai, the spokesperson for Bushra Bibi and a PTI lawyer, took to the social media platform X to share distressing revelations about her health. According to Yousufzai, Bushra Bibi disclosed that she had been given a harmful substance resembling acid in her food, causing intense pain for the past five days.

Yousufzai detailed the severe effects on Bushra Bibi's health, including a feeling of her stomach being on fire, severe sores in her mouth and throat, and difficulty in consuming anything except dry toast dipped in tea or water.

Yousufzai issued a stark warning, stating that there is a "serious threat" to Bushra Bibi's life and urgently called for a medical inspection.

PTI's official handle on X accused the "fascist regime" of maliciously attacking Imran Khan's wife and denying her necessary medical aid. The post conveyed a strong message that those responsible for such acts would be brought to justice, asserting the resilience of Pakistan and the strength of Khan.
