Sylhet Sunrisers have signed West Indian Lendl Simmons just five days before the start of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
On Sunday, the Sunrisers' management confirmed their inclusion.
In a video greeting, Simmions said, "I'm thrilled to be a part of Sylhet Sunrisers." "I'm excited to play for them and win the championship."
Devon Thomas, Rovi Bopara, Shiraz Ahmed, Kesrick Williams, and Colin Ingram are Sylhet's other three international newcomers.
The Sunrisers selected Colin Ingram and Kesrick Williams as direct picks, while Devon Thomas and Shiraz Ahmed were drafted.
Taskin Ahmed, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mosaddek Hossain, and Alok Kapali are among the Sunrisers' seasoned and youthful local players.
With the inclusion of Simmons, they now have a good squad for this edition of BPL, which is rebranded as the Bangabandhu BPL to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Bangladesh Premier League will begin on January 21 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The BPL will be held in three separate cities this year: Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet.
