The renowned Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad’s hanging body has been found at his Mohammadpur house in the capital on Wednesday. He was 69.
The police suspect that the artist chose to die by suicide. Mohammadpur police station sub-inspector Zahangir Alam, from the spot, said that circumstantial evidence showed that Sadi Mohammad committed suicide.
Sadi's brother, Shibli Mohammad, told that his brother died at their Mohammadpur residence sometime after 7pm on Wednesday.
Sadi Mohammad was director of cultural organisation Robi Raag.
He completed his bachelor’s and master’s in Rabindra Sangeet from the Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal in India.
He was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by Channel i in 2012 and Rabindra Award by the Bangla Academy in 2015.
