Comilla Victorians bowlers ran rampant against Sylhet Sunrisers and bowled them out for a mere 97 in their Bangladesh Premier League match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.
Sylhet Sunrisers batted first and were dismissed for 96 runs in 19.1 overs. After winning the toss, Cumilla Victorians captain Imrul Kayes chose to bat. Anamul Haque Bijoy returned to the bench after scoring three runs on nine balls in the first inning.
Collin Ingram top-scored with 20 off 21 while Ravi Bopara had the team's second-highest run total of 17 runs. Ravi Bopara was the only one who could fight after Ingram was out for 33 runs for the team and 20 runs for himself.
Sohag Gazi (12) and Kesrick Williams (nine) also formed a 22-run partnership for the eighth wickets, which brought them close to crossing the 100-run mark, but Comilla bowlers didn’t allow it.
Mustafizur Rahman, Nahidul Islam and Shohidul Islam took two wickets each for Cumilla. Besides, Tanvir Islam, Karim Janat and Mominul Islam took one wicket each.
The innings extras fetched Sylhet 19 runs.
