Gunshots Heard Outside Salman Khan's Home In Mumbai

Gunshots were heard outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's Mumbai residence early this morning, police said. At 5 am today, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired five rounds in the air outside Mr Khan's home, in Bandra, and sped away from the scene. 

Mumbai Police sources said that the firearm used in the shooting was a 7.6 bore gun. The two individuals suspected of carrying out the shooting are believed to have ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Additionally, based on police analysis, both suspects are estimated to be 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The police have seized DVRs from all CCTV cameras outside Mr Khan's residence which caught the accused on their bike.  According to the police, a total of four bullets were fired, with one live round recovered, likely dropped during the weapon's locking mechanism.

A bullet also hit the first floor of the building where Mr Khan resides, police said, adding that a foreign pistol was used in the firing. Mumbai Police has launched a probe into the incident and is trying to track down the individuals who fired the shots. Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to the actor.
