A remarkable event unfolded at the Department of Youth Development’s Conference Hall. EDUCO Bangladesh, Nari Maitree, and Shocheton Society co-hosted the Achievement Fair, which celebrated the inspiring journeys of talented youth from Dhaka and Rajshahi who have triumphed over significant challenges in pursuit of their dreams.
The fair honored young achievers in various fields, including National and International Karate gold medalists, boxers, cricketers, award-winning dancers, visual artists, and university students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are now studying at Dhaka University and other esteemed institutions, according to a press statement.
Over the past year, through EDUCO Bangladesh's STARS project, 61 promising yet underprivileged youths received scholarships and life skills training, empowering them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Shaheen Akter Dolly, Executive Director of Nari Maitree, chaired the event, with Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Director General of the Department of Youth Development, serving as the chief guest. Distinguished attendees included M.A. Akher, Director of Administration at the Department of Youth Development; Md. Abdur Rahim, Director of Programs at EDUCO Bangladesh; Umama Fatema, Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement; and Zahidul Islam, News Editor at Bangladesh Television, along with college lecturers, parents, and journalists. The event concluded with heartfelt thanks from Md. Hasinul Islam, Executive Director of Shocheton Society.
The Program Director of EDUCO emphasized that these achievements are a national victory and called for stronger government support to uplift talented youth further. He also highlighted EDUCO Bangladesh's commitment to future initiatives aimed at making an even greater impact on the country’s youth and expressed gratitude to partner organizations Nari Maitree and Shocheton Society, as well as the funding organization, ChildFund Korea.
The chief guest reiterated the Department of Youth Development’s commitment to empowering young people and pledged to enhance support and initiatives for future achievers across the nation.
