Shah Rukh Khan trolled for his gesture at Lata Mangeshkar's funeral

Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar has breathed her last on 6 February 2022.  Many prominent personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray among other politicians and several Bollywood actors were present at the funeral to pay their last respects to the legendary singer at Shivaji Park. Shahrukh Khan along with his manager Pooja Dadlani also attended the last rites of Lata.

Shahrukh recited Fatiha while paying his last respects to Lata Mangeshkar and then completed the ritual by offering prayers. While many fans were touched by Khan's gesture, a section of people also criticized him for allegedly 'spitting' on the mortal remains of Lata Mangeshkar, after reciting his dua. The trolls alleged that the actor was not blowing air but spitting.

In the viral snap, Khan could be seen raising his hands in dua, while Dadlani could be seen folding her hands in order to pay homage to the celebrated singer. After the backlash, many individuals backed the actor, together with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and celebrities like Urmila Matondkar, Khushbu and Shilpa Rao.

Urmila Matondkar wrote in Hindi on Twitter, “This isn’t spitting. That is referred to as providing a prayer and blowing into the wind. This follow, this tradition represents India too. You might have put up a photograph of the Prime Minister, if solely you could possibly have realized one thing from him. Hearken to this one music by India’s nice daughter the place she speaks of offering good sense to everybody, and the way every human being is god’s little one.”

"It is shameful the way people are trolling him (Shah Rukh Khan). Some people are doing politics in the name of religion even on the sad occurrence of Lata ji's demise. We all know who these people are. Nobody needs to be told," said Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.

Bhumi Pednekar drew hearts over the viral photograph of Shah Rukh saying his dua and his supervisor Pooja Dadlani becoming a member of her fingers in prayer on the funeral on Sunday. Shilpa Rao additionally shared the identical photograph and wrote, “I really like you, Shah Rukh Khan” together with a number of coronary heart emoticons.

Khushbu additionally shared a photograph of SRK and his supervisor Pooja Dadlani providing prayers to late Lata Mangeshkar. She captioned the photograph, “Mera desh!! Mera Bharat! Meri Shaan! Meri jaan!”

“It’s a shame on people who are doing this. SRK did not spit. The truth is that after dua, devotees blow out air which is a part of the prayer for the departed soul in the particular religion. Jeeyo aur Jeene do,” stated Rakhi Sawant.
