Division, inequality, and self-interest have repeatedly hindered our nation. Instead of focusing on strengthening and governing the country, politics often turns into a struggle to undermine opponents—sometimes pushed by leftist or extremist groups. Such tactics have no place in liberal democracy.
To achieve long-term peace and stability, Bangladesh must unify under strong, visionary political leadership focused on key priorities and meaningful reform. Although our government changes every five years (with a possible shift to four), relentless power struggles create ongoing discord, turning society into a simmering pot of conflict that stalls progress.
In any country, growth, peace, and stability hinge on unity. Ironically, those who promote upheaval often lack unity themselves. For progress, politics must be guided by mutual respect and tolerance.
National unity is essential to tackle issues like corruption, inequality, political instability, and the strengthening of democratic institutions. To move forward, we must abandon animosity, rivalry, distrust, and the divisive practices that splinter the nation. National unity is more crucial now than ever.
