In a message shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan congratulated U.S. president-elect Donald Trump on his election victory.
"The will of the American people has prevailed against all odds," according to the X statement of the former Pakistan premier.
Imran expressed optimism about Trump’s impact on Pakistan-U.S. relations, stating, "President-elect Trump will be beneficial for Pak-U.S. relations, fostering mutual respect for democracy and human rights."
He also expressed hope that Trump would champion peace, human rights, and democracy on a global scale, reads the message.
