The readymade garment (RMG) exports in October grew by 21% compared to the same period last year, driven by a rise in the export of knitwear and woven garments.
According to data from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), exports in October amounted to $4.13 billion, up from $3.42 billion in the same month last year.
With October’s export performance, the total export for the July-October period has increased by 11% compared to the same period last year, reaching $15.78 billion, up from $14.24 billion a year earlier.
More than three-quarters of the country's export earnings come from the RMG sector.
In the first four months of the current fiscal year, exports in this sector have grown by 11%.
