Four people were killed and two others injured in a fire that broke out at a hotel in Shahjadpur area of the capital on Monday.
“One of the victims’ bodies was found inside a bathroom on the sixth floor, while three were found on the staircase with its door locked,” said Talha bin Jasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters, UNB reports.
The fire broke out on the second floor of the six-storey building around noon, and the fire service control room received the information at 12:17 pm.
In response, two firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, said Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the control room.
They managed to bring the blaze under control by 1:03 pm.
