So far, 37,830 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Until 2:59 AM on Saturday, a total of 94 flights carried these pilgrims to Makkah and Madinah. Among them, 4,564 traveled under government management, while the remaining 33,266 went through private arrangements.
This information was disclosed in the latest Hajj bulletin released on Sunday (May 11), confirmed by the Hajj Help Desk, which is compiled based on information from the Bangladesh Hajj Office, Civil Aviation Authority, various airlines, and Saudi sources.
According to the bulletin, a total of 86,177 visas have been issued for Hajj so far. However, 923 pilgrims are still waiting for their visas.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated the highest number of flights, carrying pilgrims on 46 flights. Saudi Airlines completed 32 flights, and Flynas Airlines handled 16 flights.
This year, five pilgrims have passed away—four men and one woman. They are: Hafez Uddin (73) from Bakshiganj, Jamalpur; Khalilur Rahman from Rajbari; Md. Fariduzzaman from Kishoreganj; Al Hamida Banu from Panchagarh; and Md. Shahjahan Kabir from Mohammadpur, Dhaka
The first Hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines took off from Dhaka on April 29 with 398 pilgrims, marking the official start of the 2025 Hajj season. Hajj flights are scheduled to continue until May 31.
This year, 5,200 pilgrims are set to travel under government management, while 81,900 pilgrims will go through private arrangements. A total of 70 Hajj agencies are involved in the process.
The possible date for Hajj has been set for June 5, depending on the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia.
Return flights for pilgrims are scheduled to begin on June 10 and will end by July 10.
