Fuel prices in Bangladesh have been adjusted again, with reductions in diesel, octane, and petrol prices, while the price of kerosene has increased.
In this latest revision: Diesel price has been reduced by Tk 2 to Tk 102 per liter; Octane has dropped by Tk 3 to Tk 122 per liter; Petrol has also decreased by Tk 3 to Tk 118 per liter.
However, the price of kerosene has been set at Tk 114, up from Tk 104 last month.
The new prices were announced in a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Saturday (May 31) and will take effect from Sunday (June 1).
According to the notification: Diesel was previously priced at Tk 104 per liter, now Tk 102; Petrol has been reduced from Tk 121 to Tk 118; Octane has gone down from Tk 125 to Tk 122 per liter.
Earlier, in May, diesel and kerosene prices were reduced from Tk 105 to Tk 104 per liter, while octane and petrol saw a Tk 1 cut each, making them Tk 125 and Tk 121 per liter respectively. In March and April, fuel prices remained unchanged, while in February, all fuel types saw a Tk 1 increase per liter.
Since March 2024, the government has been following an automatic fuel pricing system aligned with the global market, announcing new prices every month.
