Uttara BAF training aircraft crash leaves 3 dead, many injured

A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training aircraft has crashed in the capital. The incident occurred on Monday (July 21) around noon in the Milestone College area of Uttara's Diabari. At least three people have been reported dead and several others injured.

According to reports, around 60 burn victims have been taken to the Burn Institute following the crash. Five people, including the aircraft’s pilot, have been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). The pilot was Flight Lieutenant Tawkir Islam Sagar, and he was alone in the aircraft at the time of the crash.

The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) has confirmed that Flight Lieutenant Tawkir Islam Sagar is currently on life support.

Meanwhile, 10 units of the fire service have been deployed to the crash site. Additionally, two platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have joined the rescue and law enforcement operations. The first fire service unit reached the scene at 1:22 PM. Currently, 10 units from the fire stations of Uttara, Tongi, Pallabi, Kurmitola, Mirpur, and Purbachal are working at the site.
