Bangladesh Railway began the sale of advance train tickets for holidaymakers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. The sale of advance train tickets started from 8.00 am and will continue until 4:00pm.
Advance train tickets are being issued through 77 counters at five places in Dhaka. Many passengers have been waiting all night since yesterday afternoon to collect tickets.
The Ministry of Railways has decided to run 6 pairs of special trains alongside the normal trains.
Of the special trains, Chandpur Special 1 and 2 will run on Chattogram-Chandpur-Chattogram road from April 29 to May 1 before Eid and from May 4 to May 8 after Eid.
Tickets for April 27 are being sold today. Return train tickets for Eid will be on sale from May 1.
Advance tickets for April 27 will be sold on April 23 while the tickets for April 28, 29, 30 and May 1 will be sold on April 24, 25, 26, and 27 respectively, said Bangladesh Railway.
Fifty percent tickets would be sold from counters and the rest online.
