The capital, Dhaka, is blanketed in dense fog. At the same time, a high level of humidity in the air is making the cold feel more severe. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that the fog and cold conditions will persist until noon.
This information was provided in a forecast issued for the six hours starting from 7:00 am on Saturday (3 December).
According to the forecast, the sky over Dhaka and surrounding areas may remain temporarily partly cloudy until noon, while the weather is likely to stay dry.
However, moderate to dense fog may occur. Light winds may also blow from the west and northwest at a speed of 6 to 12 kilometers per hour.
The Meteorological Department said that daytime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged. At 6:00 am today, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 13.0 degrees Celsius, while the humidity level stood at 99 percent.
Forecast data shows that Dhaka’s maximum temperature yesterday was 20.4 degrees Celsius. Today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 12.7 degrees Celsius. No rainfall was recorded in the region over the past 24 hours.
In addition, sunset in Dhaka today will be at 5:24 pm, and sunrise tomorrow, Sunday, will be at 6:42 am.
Meanwhile, in a nationwide forecast released by the Meteorological Department last night, it was stated that until 6:00 pm today, the sky across the country may remain temporarily partly cloudy and the weather is likely to stay dry.
From midnight to morning, moderate to dense fog may occur across the country. A mild cold wave is currently sweeping over the districts of Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Panchagarh, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Kushtia, which may ease in some places.
During this period, both nighttime and daytime temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
