The 2nd day sitting of the first session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad(JS) resumed at 11.00 am today with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, in the chair.
The day's proceedings began with recitation from the Holy Quran.
According to the schedule of the Parliament Secretariat, today’s sitting will include a question-and-answer session involving several important ministries and divisions, including the Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Education. In addition, there will be discussions on notices calling attention to urgent matters of public importance and on the motion of thanks regarding the President’s speech.
At the first meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held at the Parliament Building on Saturday, chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, it was decided that this session of parliament will continue until April 30. Although the sittings are normally scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM every day except government holidays, today’s sitting will start at 11:00 AM under a special schedule. According to the committee’s decision, a total of 50 hours will be allocated for discussion on the President’s speech.
Members of Parliament are playing a very active role in this session. A total of 468 questions have been submitted, including 8 for the Prime Minister and 460 for other ministers. In addition, 27 notices for attention on urgent matters and 97 resolution proposals have been received.
