The AI Collective Bangladesh Chapter, a local chapter of a US-based global non-profit community platform, organized a Rally in Dhaka on 6th June to raise public awareness about the development and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Rally was part of the global initiative “Humans in AI Week”, a program launched by The AI Collective and celebrating from 1st to 7th June 2026 across more than 200 cities in 50 countries, according to a statement.
The initiative brings people together through various forums to discuss, share, and better understand how humans can accept, adopt, adapt to, and progress alongside the rapid evolution of AI in almost every sphere of life. At the heart of the initiative lies a common question: “What does it mean to be human in the AI era?”
In the rally around a hundred participants comprise with students, technology professionals, engineers, bankers, company founder, AI-practitioner demonstrated their concerns about fast-rising fear about adverse impacts for the massive misuse of AI tools like plagiarism in education, excessive dependency in business, frequent posting of fake, counterfeit contents on social media, replacement in jobs with AI tools, spreading of disinformation and misinformation and to some extent AI could become a life-threating tools.
Holding placards with messages such as “Our Planet, Our Rules, No Machine Rules”, “My Job is My Livelihood, Why Cut for AI”, “Think Before Click”, “AI is an Assistant, Not an Alternate”, “Human First, Human-Centric, Human-controlled AI”, participants emphasized the importance of using AI tools mindfully, cautiously, and ethically.
The demonstrators in the rally have expressed, AI-based system development and usages should be ethically and responsively practiced so that we can avoid misuse of this great technology.
Mr. Mohammed Asif, Chapter Lead of The AI Collective Bangladesh has given importance to finalize and approval of the draft AI policy soon and also develop framework and governance to start implementation of the policy.
Mr. Kh. Ehsanur Rahman, a senior AI specialist and chapter member said “AI must be developed and used in a way that enhances human capability, protects trust, and serves society. The future should not be AI versus humans; it should be humans and AI working together responsibly “.
The peaceful rally started form the National Press Club and routed through High-Court Road to Doyel Chottor and ended at the TSC moar, Dhaka University. The program was supported by LooselyCoupled Technologies an AI and Data Analytic company and Techntalents, an IT Job placement platform.
