Three more children have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,106 new measles cases have been reported during the same period.
According to a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the number of suspected measles cases recorded over the past 24 hours stood at 947, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 106,565 from March 15 to July 6.
The release said 159 measles cases were confirmed during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 12,791 during the period from March 15 to July 6.
A total of 89,734 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals since March 15.
During the same period, 86,062 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
The release said three deaths from suspected measles were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths among children from suspected measles to 648 between March 15 and July 6.
No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. The total number of deaths from confirmed measles has remained at 93 since March 15.
