Summit LNG Terminal has commenced supplying to the national gas grid from 6:10 pm today.
Approximately 110 mcf gas per day (MMCFD) is being supplied amd it is expected to gradually bring up to full speed of 550 mfc at 2 am tomorrow, according to Summit spokesperson today.
The increased supply is expected to help improve gas availability for industries, power generation and other consumers, supporting economic activity and reducing pressure on the country’s energy system, she said.
Talking to BSS chairman Petrobangla Abdul Mannan said that Summit has been supplying gas from its FSRU this evening.
"We hope the gas pressure will increase gradually and it will reach full-scale midnight, " he said.
The chairman said that side by side the Exelerate Energy's FSRU is also supplying gas to maintain supply enhancement.
