Mild heatwave sweeps 25 districts

A mild heatwave is sweeping across 25 districts of the country. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that, along with the heatwave, temperatures across the country may decrease slightly from last night through today.

The information was provided in the weather forecast for the next five days issued on Tuesday (September 15) evening. It said that a mild heatwave is currently sweeping over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, as well as Dhaka, Tangail, Manikganj, Kishoreganj, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Chandpur, Feni, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Satkhira, Khulna, Barishal, and Patuakhali districts. The heatwave may ease in some areas.

According to the forecast, many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, as well as one or two places in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers today, accompanied by temporary gusty winds. Meanwhile, some areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may experience moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, the weather forecast issued at 7 a.m. today said that the sky in and around Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy until 1 p.m. Rain or thundershowers may occur during this period. At the same time, winds may blow from the south or southwest at a speed of 8–12 kilometers per hour.

The department also said that daytime temperatures may decrease slightly.
