Female doctor's slaughtered body found in Panthapath hotel

The throat-slit body of a 28-year-old doctor was found in a Dhaka hotel Wednesday night, police said.

The deceased is Jannatul Nayeem Sritika who was undertaking gynaecology training from Dhaka Medical College Hospital after completing her MBBS from Moghbazar Community Medical College.

Police were informed at around 11:30pm after which they went to the spot and found the body of the doctor on the fifth floor of a building opposite Square Hospital in Panthapath.

The body was sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy, Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Kalabagan Police Station, said. ‘There were signs of knife wounds on it.’

‘It is suspected that the doctor’s boyfriend fled after allegedly killing her,’ the OC added.

‘Also, the manager of the hotel was detained in connection with the incident.’
