Additional Inspector General of police, Khandker Golam Faruk, has been appointed as the new commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
In a notification issued by the Public Security Division of home ministry on Sunday (October 23) said the order would come into effect from October 29.
Faruk, also a member of the 12th BCS batch, is currently serving as the Rector (Additional Inspector General of police) of the Police Staff College Bangladesh.
Khandker Golam Faruk was born at Ghatanadi village under Bhuapur Upazila of Tangail in 1964. He was posted as Additional Inspector General of police grade-2 in 2020.
