The voting to the elections of over 100 upazilas, municipalities and union parishads began on November 2.
Polling started from 8am and will continue till 4pm.
The Election Commission (EC) has formed a high-level team to monitor the elections.
Authorities have imposed a general bar on all types of vehicles on election day, with special emphasis on motorcycles.
"All types of traffic have been banned in the polling area from midnight on November 1 in order to conduct polling peacefully. Apart from this, motorcycle movement will be closed till 12 midnight on November 3," said SM Asaduzzaman, Joint Secretary of Election Commission (EC).
