34 chronic disease patients get assistance at Sundarganj

Thirty-four individuals infected with serious illnesses received financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Welfare's Department of Social Services for treatment in the Gaibandha district's Sundarganj upazila.

On Saturday afternoon, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Al- Maruf presided over a gathering to distribute assistance checks at the upazila parishad's auditorium.

The event's primary guest was local legislator Barrister Shameem Haider Patwari. Rafiquzzaman Khan, an upazila social services official, and local school teachers Md. Sahjahan Miah and Abdul Mannan Akond, among others, spoke at the event. The legislator presented the grant cheques to the patients. A check for TK 50,000 was given to each of the sufferers.

This month, 285 patients from all seven upazilas in the district received grant payments, according to Fazlul Haque, deputy director of the department of social services.
