Substitute salt with these items

Salt is one of the most important spices.

A shocking report from the World Health Organization stated that if you want to stay healthy,  then you should limit your salt intake upto 5 grams per day. On the other hand, it is quite impossible for us to eat salt-less food.

There are tons of food items like chips, fried foods and other snacks that we do not realize contain a generous amount of salt in them, and we love eating them very much. Salt is one of the key ingredients used in them.

Salt provokes your chances of having high blood pressure and other health issues.
This leaves only one way, that  you need to limit the amount of salt in your food. But, is that even possible? Finding substitutes for salt is your only way out. This is not as hard as it sounds!

It might sound surprising, but there are certain food items that will do the work of salt along with increasing the taste of your food.

The list is provided below:

Persely: The first item that can be used for cutting off salt is parsley. It is a good source of vitamin K, C, iron and magnesium. Try using parsley in salad items. It will help to hold both the taste and goodness.

Mint leaves: You can try using mint leaves instead of salt. Mint leaves change the taste of your food. Throwing some mint leaves in your beverages, desserts and juices helps to increase the taste of your food.

Lemon: Citrus, especially lemon juice and zest, acts as an excellent alternative for salt in some recipes. As a source of acid, lemon juice acts similarly to salt by bringing out the flavors of a dish.

Rosemary: Rosemary can be quite an expensive spice. But the best part is you can use rosemary as an alternative to salt.  Instead of throwing a clump of salt, you can throw rosemary. It might not taste the same as before but it does not taste that bad.

Ground Black pepper: Salt and pepper are a classic duo. If you are thinking of cutting salt in your food, start reaching for your pepper container instead. Black pepper is a good addition to soups, pastas, and many other savory dishes. Plus, black pepper may help in decreasing  inflammation that’s linked to chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer.

Food without salt is incomplete, but the amount should be used moderately. If you find it hard to cut down your salt intake then you can try using one of the flavorful seasonings above as a good replacement.
