The Election Commission cancelled the candidacy of ruling Awami League candidate and current lawmaker from Chattogram-16 (Banshkhali) Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury.
Election Commission Secretary Jahangir Alam confirmed this development. He said,, Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury’s candidacy has cancelled for violating election norms and for threatening “law enforcement officials”, just before polling closed officially.
“This was not the first time he has done this,” he said.
