Bangladesh has ranked 103 rd in the latest edition of the Henley Passport Index, sharing the same spot with Kosovo and Libya.
The UK-based Henley & Partners prepared the index with the list of 199 passports as well as 227 travel destinations that was published online on Tuesday.
Bangladeshi passport holders can still travel to 40 foreign destinations without prior visas, as in 2021
India shares the position with Sao Tome and Principe in Central Africa, behind Rwanda and Uganda. It now ranks at 83rd position.
Germany and South Korea held onto the joint second spot on the latest ranking, with passport holders able to access 190 destinations visa-free, while Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Spain shared third place with a score of 189.
Afghanistan has the least powerful passport ranked 111th position. The Afghan passport holders can enter only 26 states without a visa.
Myanmar's position is ahead of Bangladesh, at 97, with visa-free/ on-arrival access to 47 destinations.
Bhutan's passport, which allows its holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 53 destinations, ranks 90th in the ranking in 2022.
Sri Lanka ranks just ahead of Bangladesh in the 102nd position in the index. The country's passport gives people visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 41 countries.
Nepal and Pakistan holding the position of 105th and 108th respectively.The passport of the Maldives is the most powerful in South Asia, with visa-free access to 88 countries.
