Aamir Khan will be producing ex-wife and director Kiran Rao’s directorial comeback movie whose shooting has begun in Pune on January 8. This will be Rao’s comeback after 12 years. Her last movie ‘Dhobi Ghat.’
Over a decade ago, Kiran Rao made her directorial debut with the film Dhobi Ghat. The filmmaker is now working on her second feature movie. Rao reportedly began filming her second directorial project last weekend in a town near Pune.
Kiran Rao’s second film will be a drama-comedy, as opposed to Dhobi Ghat, which was termed an arthouse film. According to sources, the film is termed a massy entertainer, and after hearing the script, Aamir agreed to join as producer right away.
The film’s initial schedule will last till January 20th, and it will be shot in several towns throughout Maharashtra. Rao hopes to complete the film’s production by April. This project will also include composer Rm Sampath and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Written by Biplab Goswami with the screenplay of Sneha Desai, the film is centred on three characters. Kiran has confirmed the lead to Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega fame Sparsh Shrivastav, who have been a part of several serials, including Balika Vadhu. For another two leads Rao’s search stopped at Pratibha Ranta, who was seen in Zee TV’s Qurbaan Hua, and Nitanshi Goel, earlier seen in Peshwa Bajirao and Karmaphal Daata Shani.
