The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Sunday directed that two children, Nakano Jasmine Malika and Nakano Laila Lina, will stay with their Japanese mother Eriko Nakano until February 6.
A five-member Appellate Division bench, headed by Justice Md Nuruzzaman, passed the order after hearing.
Justice Nuruzzaman said Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique is now hospitalised. The case will be heard by the bench headed by the Chief Justice. Till then, SC's earlier directive remain in force.
On January 3, the Supreme Court directed that two daughters Nakano Jasmine Malika, 11, and Nakano Laila Lina, 9 of Bangladeshi father Imran Sharif and Japanese mother Nakano will stay with their mother till January 23.
The apex court stated that their father, Imran Sharif, a Bangladesh-born US citizen, can visit his daughters at any time between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. every day throughout this time period.
The order was issued by a five-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by senior Justice Md Nuruzzaman. The next order in the case will be issued on February 6, according to the Appellate Division.
Ajmalul Hossain QC and Advocate Ahsanul Karim appeared for the Japanese mother in court. Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir assisted them. Lawyer Fida M Kamal and advocate Fawzia Karim stood for Imran Sharif and Barrister Maruful Islam assisted them.
