Tech giant Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates arrived in Islamabad today(February 17) and met with Prime Minister Imran Khan on his first ever trip to the country.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan said that Gates would review progress regarding polio eradication work ongoing in the country and hold meetings with President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and other provincial health officials.
Microsoft co-founder will also pay a visit to the National Command and Operation Centre. He will be given briefings on measures being used to curb the spread of the Coronavirus and polio virus in the country. He is expected to return this evening after holding meetings with top Pakistani officials.
Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI spoke with Mr.@BillGates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), on Tuesday, to discuss polio eradication efforts and the Foundation’s support towards improving nutrition as well as financial services in Pakistan.
