A Dhaka court granted permanent bail to former Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat on April 11.
Earlier on April 10, Samrat was granted ad-interim bail in money laundering and arms cases filed with Ramna Police Station in 2019. But he cannot walk out of jail as he is yet to secure bail in a graft case, said his lawyer.
Judge Tehsin Iftekhar of the 7th Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court of Dhaka handed down the order. The judge granted him bail upon a bond of Tk 10,000 with two guarantors.
On October 6 of 2019, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Samrat and his close aide Enamul Haque Arman from Cumilla, raiding a house near the Indian border.
