The season's first nor'wester lashed the capital Dhaka and some other parts of the country on Wednesday.
Beginning at around 6:45am, the nor'wester, locally known as Kalbaishakhi was accompanied with lightning and gusty winds swept across Dhaka and also hit different areas of Comilla, Noakhali, Rangamati and Tangail districts.
No major incidents of casualty or damage were reported so far due to the nor'wester. But the nor'wester uprooted many trees in the Dhaka and it also caused power outage in different part of the city.
According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions including Comilla. There may also be scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country.
