Clashes were reported between leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Chhatra Dal in the capital's central Shaheed Minar area.
The clashes took place on Tuesday(24 May).
The altercation began around 9:30 a.m., when BCL activists prevented Chhatra Dal activists from entering the area, according to Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moudud Hawlader.
Scores of people have been injured in clashes.
