The bodies of 22 persons, who died burnt in the devastating fire that broke out at BM Inland Container Depot at Sitakunda in Chattogram, have been handed over to their family members.
The authorities of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) identified the bodies and handed them over to respective families from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
"The identified bodies were being handed over to family members or relatives. District administration is giving a check of Tk 2 lakh in cash to the relatives and all the expenses of burial at the time of handing over the dead body. DNA samples are being collected from relatives of those whose bodies have not yet been identified," said NDC Touhidul Islam of Chittagong Deputy Commissioner's Office.
