Bangladesh received $2.17 billion in remittances during the first 22 days of July, marking a 23.4 percent year-on-year increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting the continued strong flow of money sent home by expatriate Bangladeshis.
According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, expatriates sent $2.17 billion in remittances during July 1–22, 2026, up from $1.759 billion received during the corresponding period of July 2025.
On July 22 alone, inward remittances amounted to $75 million.
The sustained growth in remittance inflows is expected to support the country's foreign exchange reserves, strengthen external sector stability, and help meet the domestic demand for foreign currency.
Remittance remains one of Bangladesh's key sources of foreign exchange earnings, alongside exports, making a significant contribution to the country's economy.
