Visiting US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor on Saturday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The meeting began at 9:30am at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon, said PM's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Bangladesh-US bilateral relations, expanding trade and investment, regional cooperation, and other issues of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, State Minister Shama Obaed, Prime Minister's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir , PM’s advisers Rehan Asif Asad and Mahadi Amin, among others, were present at the meeting.
US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen also attended the meeting.
The US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon on a three-day visit.
Sergio met Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman on Thursday evening and visited the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar on Friday.
