The government has decided to start area-based specific-time load shedding in the country from tomorrow (Tuesday).
The residents of the specific area will be informed about the load shedding schedule.
Energy Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said at a meeting at PMO on Monday, "There will be one to two hours of load shedding per day. And all the shops will remain closed after 8 pm."
The minister also said that petrol pumps will be remained closed for a day every week. Shops and markets will be closed at 8.00pm daily.
The markets and shops are ordered to close by 8pm every day, while mosques are being barred from operating ACs.virtual meeting will be held instead of those with physical presence.The ACs' of all mosques will be kept off to save electricity.
The step has been taken in a bid to save the fuel for producing power as it is being hampered due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the PMO on Monday.
