Veteran journalist Toab Khan passes away

Ekushey Padak winning veteran journalist Toab Khan passed away at a city hospital on Saturday noon. He was 87.

Toab Khan, Editor of Dainik Bangla, breathed his last at a hospital in the capital city at 12:30pm due to age old complexity.

He started journalism in 1953. Then he joined Dainik Sangbad in 1955. He became the News Editor of the daily in 1961. Later, he joined the then Daily Pakistan in 1964. He became the first Editor of Dainik Bangla in 1972. 
He was a press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from 1973 to 1975. Later, he served as chief information officer and director general of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).

He served as the Advisory Editor of the Bengali daily Janakantha from its beginning till October 2021. Then he took charge of Dainik Bangla as the Editor.
