At least four people were killed and five others injured after a truck lost it's control and ran over a group of pedestrians in Narsingdi district on Sunday morning (October 2).
The accident took place at Machineghar Bus stand area on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
"A truck ploughed through into a vegetable market after it crushed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Machineghar Bus Stand area, leaving four dead on the spot and five others injured," said Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station.
"Among the deceased, two were passersby and two others auto-rickshaw passengers", he added.
