Three people died of dengue across the country in 24 hours till Monday. A total of 525 people were hospitalized due to the outbreak during this time.
The mosquito-borne disease has become a matter of concern as 61 people have died of dengue so far this year. There are some 2144 dengue patients are hospitalized across the country.
Directorate General of Health Services issued a statement in this connection signed by its Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room In-Charge Dr. M. Jahidul Islam on Monday.
According to the statement, 525 dengue patients were hospitalized in 24 hours till 8:00am Monday. Of the fresh hospitalization, 352 patients were reported in Dhaka city and 173 in several places outside the capital.
The statement also said, a total of 17,820 dengue patients were hospitalized from January 1 to October 3 this year. Among them 15,615 patients were discharged from hospitals after being cured.
Earlier on September 6, five people died of dengue. This was the highest death toll in a day so far.
Last year, a total of 28,429 suffered from dengue. Among them 105 died of dengue.
