Update : 04 Oct 2022, 17:12

There will be no age limit for the hajj pilgrims to perform hajj from next year. A total of one lakh and 30 thousand people will be able to go to Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh to perform Hajj in 2023.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan came up with the assertion while speaking to the leaders of newly-elected Religious Reporters Forum at the secretariat in the capital on Tuesday (October 4).

Md Faridul Haque Khan said, "According to Saudi Arabia government, a fully fledged Hajj will be held in 2023. It won't be as the same as the previous year. We will get opportunity to go there according to our ratio."

"We talked to the Saudi government and came to know that the issue of 65 years’ restriction may not exist next time," he added.

The state minister also said there is still opportunity to register for next year's Hajj.

"More than 12 thousand people have registered for Hajj so far, although the highest number of Hajj pilgrims may be 15 thousand under the government Hajj package," he said.
