Country sees 637 dengue cases in 24 hours

A total of 637 cases of dengue were recorded in 24 hours till 8am Thursday (October 6). However, none died due to the disease during this time.

Of the new patients, 417 have been admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 220 outside the capital city.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a regular statement on Thursday.

The statement also said that 2,333 dengue patients are receiving treatment across the country. 1,771 of them are now receiving treatment at hospitals in the capital and the rest of the 562 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

Earlier on September 6, five people dengue patients died in one day. It was the highest death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in one day. A total of 63 dengue patients died so far this year.
