At least six people were killed due to the coronavirus in the country in 24 hours till 8am Sunday. A total of 351 people were tested positive with the virus during this time. Bangladesh reported 5.86 percent Covid-19 positive cases against the samples tested during the last 24 hours.
In a statement, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter to the media on Sunday.
The official tally showed that the virus infected 20 lakh 32 thousand 443 and killed a total of 29 thousand 401 people so far, the statement added.
Some 620 people were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the disease in the 24 hours till Sunday morning.
The first case of coronavirus was detected at Wuhan in China in 2019. Soon after, the virus spread worldwide. The first case of the disease was detected on March 8 in 2020 in Bangladesh. The country saw the first Covid-related death on March 18 of the same year.
