Update : 22 Oct 2022, 17:26

Awami League General Secretary and also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP has been trying to create anarchy centering their rally. The government will not fall into their trap.

BNP is now trying to threaten us with bamboo and stick. They want to create mayhem and see casualty centering their rally. But, the government won't fall into their trap.

He made the remarks while talking to journalists after a program in the capital city on Saturday (October 22).

Obaidul Quader said, "They (BNP) hired goons to hold a rally in Khulna. There are murder and drug cases against the hooligans. This is not the year of 2013 or 2014. They will be handled strictly if they want to create violent activities."

Earlier at a program, he said, "We want honest leader like Sheikh Hasina. There was no such leader except Sheikh Hasina after 1975."

The minister also said that the situation on the roads has been improved. There must be discipline on the road. I have already told the secretary to bring the wrongdoers in a rule.
