Eight labourers went missing on Monday night when dredger 'Saikat-2' capsized at Sandwip channel of Mirsarai coast due to gusty wind and strong current under the influence of cyclone Sitrang. The dredger is owned by a contracting firm named Saikat Enterprise. Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has appointed the contracting firm at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City.

Meanwhile, labourer Md Salam managed to arrive at the shore being alive but others went missing.
