The divisional mass rally of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started in Faridpur on Saturday (November 12) despite transport strikes.
The rally at the Komarpur Abdul Aziz Institution ground in Faridpur began at 11:00am, about three hours before the time scheduled to begin the rally.
From Friday night, the venue was filled with BNP leaders and activists, fearing obstacles by ruling party men and police, hassles caused by the bus strike, and a showdown.
Meanwhile, Faridpur district bus workers and owners went on a 38-hour strike from November 11.
