'I get 2-3 kgs of abuse every day', Modi says

Update : 13 Nov 2022, 11:25

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (November 12) said he receives two-three kilos of verbal abuse (gaalis) every day but his physical constitution converts it into "nutrition".

Modi was addressing  the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Telangana, India. While addressing the BJP workers at Begumpet airport, he took a dig at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders including chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, without taking their names.

Apparently, Modi was angry with the TRS party workers making critical comments, staging black balloon protests and erected banners all along the Begumpet airport road with “Modi Go Back” slogans.

"I have been used to facing such abuses for the last 22 years, so, I have stopped bothering about them. Since Friday, I have been travelling from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu and from there to Andhra Pradesh and now Telangana. Some people have asked me whether I won't get tired of such a hectic schedule. I tell them that I take two to three kg of abusive words (from the opposition parties). And God has created me in such a way, God has blessed me in such way that all those abusive words are processed and converted as nutrition in my system. It becomes positive energy which will be helped to serve the people," Modi said, amidst laughter.

He went on to say that some individuals have "exhausted" the vocabulary in their attempts to harm him out of despair, depression, and fear. The opponent had no choice but to use such derogatory language, so he urged his supporters not to worry.

"Don't worry about it. I for the past 22 years received a variety of abusive words. Just laugh at them, have tea. The Lotus will bloom. Go with that happy feeling," Modi said. The BJP will stop at nothing to defeat the TRS in the 2023 Assembly elections.

The Prime Minister said they (TRS leaders) were hurling abuses at him day in and day out, because they were afraid of the BJP and believed in superstition.

“I request the BJP workers not to get upset or angry with such abusive comments, as these people have nothing to give except hurling abuses. Just enjoy them, have a good cup of tea, and sleep with the hope that lotus is going to bloom here," he said.
