Two injured as Brazil, Argentina football fans clash

Amid the World Cup euphoria has gripped, a bizarre incident took place in Bangladesh as two teenage boys were hacked over an altercation of Argentina-Saudi Arabia match in Savar upazila on November 22.

The injured are Al Amin, 18, and Mehedi, 16, residents of Boktarpur area in Savar municipality.

Locals said about 20 to 22 teenagers hacked Al Amin and Mehedi in Boktarpur crossing area at about 6:30 pm at one stage of an altercation just after Argentina defeated by Saudi Arabia in the World Cup game.

Doctor Farbin Jasim, duty doctor of the hospital said, after giving primary treatment, they were sent to Dhaka Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital.

 

 

 

Two teenagers were hacked allegedly by some Argentine fans in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, after Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia in the World Cup match yesterday.

The injured are Al Amin, 18, and Mehedi, 16, said Sub-Inspector Raju Ahmed of Savar Model Police Station.

Locals said the attackers and the victims were watching the match on a projector at Baktarpur in Savar municipality. After Argentina lost, over 20- 22 boys attacked them with sharp weapons, leaving them critically injured.

They were rushed to Savar Upazila Health Complex. The people who took them to the hospital claimed that some youths who were supporting Argentina attacked the duo after an altercation over the match.

Farbin Jasim, on-duty doctor at the health complex, said the two have several injury marks. As their condition was critical, they were moved to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, added the doctor.
